You know you're a vulnerable
governor when Presidential candidates from your own party come
to your state to rip your policies. That's exactly what happened
to Matt Blunt last week.
Former Health and Human Services
Secretary Tommy Thompson, a Republican candidate for president
and health care expert, came to St. Louis to criticize Matt
Blunt's massive health care cuts.
Thompson said that instead of
slashing health care from thousands, governors should expand the
ranks of low-income residents on Medicaid because a majority of
the cost is paid by the federal government.
If Blunt won't listen to Thompson,
perhaps he should listen to his favorite GOP Prez candidate,
Mitt Romney. Whereas Blunt killed Missouri's Medicaid program
and left thousands of children without health care, Gov. Romney
signed a bill into law expanding Medicaid for needy children in
his state.
Republicans and Democrats can agree
that Blunt's health care policies are wrong -- and have
been disastrous for the people of Missouri.

New Report Shows That
Under Blunt, Missouri's Economy Continues To
Lag
A recent report from the Bush
Administration shows that under Matt Blunt, Missouri's economic
growth rate continues to lag behind the nation. All eight states
bordering Missouri had faster growth in 2006 than our state.
Given the resources of Missouri and the talent of its people, we can do better. We just need real
leadership.

new unfortunate ranking for our state.
Blunt Signs Away
Future of Higher Ed in Missouri
In his latest assault against
everyday Missouri families, Matt Blunt recently signed a bill
into law that takes millions out of MOHELA, the agency that
provides low-interest student loans to middle-class
families.
It already costs working families
nearly 50% of their income to send a child to college, yet
Blunt's major higher education plan does absolutely nothing to
make higher education more affordable for Missouri families.
This is just the latest example of
Blunt's wrong priorities moving Missouri in the wrong
direction.
